Is your relationship with money working for you?

Mary Liz Burns
We weren’t born with a positive relationship with money. So, why do we talk badly to ourselves when we think we're not where we "should" be?

The money stories we tell often leave us feeling more anxious. If this sounds like you, you can learn how to show yourself compassion while working towards the change you deserve.

Let’s do something different with our money, especially if what we’re doing isn’t working.

About Me

I've always been interested in how we feel about money, both in positive and negative ways. I'm a personal finance expert specializing in connecting empathy and understanding to key financial decisions: such as saving for retirement, getting out of debt, and optimizing your Social Security benefits. Sharing practical ideas on how you can make the best money decisions for yourself is my passion. Together, we can create lasting positive money stories that align with your financial goals.

My husband Martin and I live in Washington, DC.

What's A Money Story?

Money stories reflect how we feel, think, and behave around money.
These stories are based on our earliest childhood memories and real-life experiences with money — and are often subconscious and incomplete.
Identifying your money story is the key to unlocking better financial decision-making.
